![]() We suggest you stay away from the 14-inch model with an M2 Max chip-the smaller battery coupled with the power-hungry processor won't result in the best battery life. For intermediate content creators, the M2 Pro coupled with either size will suffice-the 14-inch MacBook Pro is similar in size to the 13-inch MacBook Pro, making it easier to travel with, but the 16-inch MacBook Pro might feel ginormous. If you're stuck on the exact combination to go with, we recommend the 16-inch MacBook Pro with an M2 Pro chip for those who want a big display and more battery life. With web browsing, we experienced about 12 hours on the bigger MacBook while the smaller model only hit about half that. During intensive workloads, the 14-inch MacBook Pro lasted two hours on battery while the 16-inch reached three to four hours. Its larger chassis lends itself to better airflow and cooling, and it also trumps the 14-inch model in battery life. The 16-inch MacBook Pro with an M2 Max does have exclusive access to a High Power Mode, which enhances performance for more graphics-intensive projects like editing 8K footage. The 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M2 Pro processor also delivered smooth performance when put through a slightly similar stress test (such as editing RED raw footage via Final Cut) with zero stuttering or hiccups. The result? Smooth playback (without the need to reduce the quality of the footage to avoid stutters) and a speedy export time-proving that it's an excellent device for handling intensive, graphically-demanding production work. ![]() He put the device through its paces by adding 4K footage, 3D effects, and image files to a project in Adobe Premiere Pro. WIRED reviewer Adam Speight tested the 16-inch MacBook Pro with an M2 Max chip. Editing 4K videos? Rendering 3D models in CAD? Producing music? That’s what these machines are intended for. If you’re mostly working through a web browser and typing up documents, these machines are overkill, and you should stick with a MacBook Air. The two processor choice options are significantly more powerful than most people need. Apple also added Wi-Fi 6E support along with Bluetooth 5.3. You'll also get a variety of ports including an HDMI 2.1, three USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, an SD card slot, a high-impedance headphone jack, and a MagSafe charging port. You can choose to outfit either with Apple’s new M2 Pro or M2 Max processors.īoth models have the same chassis as their predecessors, which come equipped with mini LED screens (providing deeper blacks and rich color like on the iPad Pro), a 120-Hz refresh rate for smoother-looking screens, a physical row of function keys in place of the Touch Bar (complete with a Touch ID button), a 1080p webcam, and a six-speaker sound system. Want the most powerful MacBooks with Apple’s silicon? Look no further than the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro ( 9/10, WIRED Recommends)-if you can stomach the $2,000 starting price. This time, I tested the 15-inch MacBook Air with 16 GB of memory, and it handled 40 Chrome tabs, three separate windows, and multiple apps, without any hiccups. Having used the M2-powered 13-inch MacBook Air with 8 GB of memory over the past year, I'd often see the rainbow wheel whenever I'd have several tabs and windows open. (Unlike the smaller MacBook Air, the base model comes with a 10-core GPU instead of eight.) If it's within your budget, I highly recommend upgrading to at least 16 GB of unified memory. It's powered by the same M2 chip too, complete with an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU. At 3.3 pounds, it's a little over a half-pound heavier than the 13-inch model and slightly lighter than the 14-inch MacBook Pro. Even with the larger design, it remains thin and lightweight. It packs all the same features as its smaller sibling (see above) including a redesigned chassis and a 1080p webcam. Seriously, you don't need to splurge on a 14- or 16-inch MacBook Pro just to get a big display now. The 15-inch MacBook Air ( 8/10, WIRED Recommends) is the first large-screen option within the Air lineup. ![]() WELLS FARGO BANK, NATIONAL ASSOCIATION AS TRUSTEE FOR OPTION ONE MORTGAGE LOAN TRUST 2006-1, ASSET-BACKED CERTIFICATES, SERIES 2006-1 ![]() TYRAN, ET VIRĢ582 TUCKAHOE ROAD FRANKLINVILLE NJ 08322 BANK NATIONAL ASSOCIATION, NOT IN ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY BUT SOLELY AS TRUSTEE FOR THE RMAC TRUST, SERIES 2018 G-CTTĦ17 CROZIER AVENUE NATIONAL PARK NJ 08063 ![]() LYONS, HIS HEIRS, DEVISEES, AND PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVES AND HIS, HER, THEIR OR ANY OF THEIR SUCCESSORS IN RIGHT, TITLE AND INTEREST, ET ALĤ32 AUBURN STREET WOODBURY HEIGHTS NJ 08097 THE CLUSTERS AT WASHINGTON CONDOMINIUM ASSOCIATION, INC.Ĥ FRANCIS LEE BUILDING BUILDING #27, UNIT # 4 TURNERSVILLE NJ 08012 MICHAEL KORCZYNSKI HIS/ HER HEIRS, DEVISEES AND PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVES AND HIS, HER, THEIR OR ANY OF THEIR SUCCESSORS IN RIGHT, TITLE AND INTEREST, ET UX, ET AL AS TRUSTEE FOR MORTGAGE ASSETS MANAGEMENT SERIES I TRUST NAPHY, ET ALīANK OF NEW YORK MELLON TRUST COMPANY, N.A. Once the primer is dry, it’s time to skim coat the wall with a trowel. Prior to applying the primer, you should use a quality brush or roller to prep the wall. A primer with low sheen helps to ensure that the walls remain free of any unwanted adhesives or residue that could impair the skim coat’s smoothness. The primer should be an acrylic-based primer with a low sheen. Once the wall is ready, a primer should be applied before you skim coat the wall. When using a skim coat to either smooth out existing walls or to provide a texture to a new wall, the first step is to ensure that the wall is completely clean, dry, and free of dust. However, it is important to ensure that the primer is fully dry and adhered to the surface prior to skim coating. Applying a thin layer of joint compound or other finishing material over the primer can result in a smooth, even finish and can help to reduce the amount of additional preparation and sanding required prior to painting or wallpapering. Primer is a base coating that is applied prior to any painting or wallpapering work. It is commonly used to cover minor flaws and imperfections in a wall and to improve the look of the surface. Skim coating is a process that involves applying a thin layer of finishing plaster or joint compound to a wall or other surface to create a flat, even surface. Yes, it is possible to skim coat over primer. It is important to work in small sections and spread the joint compound quickly, as it dries very fast.īe sure to apply a second layer after the first has dried, repeating the process until all of the walls have been skim coated. Skim coating involves spreading a thin layer of drywall joint compound over the wall in an even layer. Once the wall is prepped and ready, it is time to begin the skim coating. This will help ensure that the skim coating adheres properly. Next, the wall should be primed with a high-adhesion primer, such as an oil- or shellac-based primer. The wall should then be checked for cracks, holes and seams, and filled using joint compound or spackling, whichever is appropriate for the surface. If the wall is already painted, the paint should be removed.įor drywall, this involves sanding off existing paint, and for the other materials, this involves removing the paint chemically. Depending on the wall, this could mean patching drywall, replacing broken boards, replacing rotted wood, etc. ![]() Preparing a wall for skim coating requires first addressing any damage to the wall. Keep in mind that if you are covering any existing paint, you may need a specialty primer such as an alkyd primer to bond the paint surfaces together.Ī quality primer is essential for a successful skim coat job, so do your research and choose wisely. You will want to choose the best primer for the surface you are working with, such as a shellac-based sealer or oil-based primer for drywall or wallpaper, respectively.ĭepending on the size of the room and the other materials involved, you may be able to use a liquid latex primer or an acrylic primer for concrete and brick. The primer helps to ensure that the skim coat adheres to the surface and produces a desirable end result. ![]() Yes, you typically need to use a primer before skim coating a wall. No change there and that was a disappointment. On many items they had removed plastic altogether or had reduced it considerably. It was so good to see that they are really trying to remove plastic packaging and general waste in their food outlets. As we arrived early (about 20 mins before the park open) we watched staff arrive and every single one had a temperature check. However all outside so risk massively reduced anyway. The social distancing in queue lines was good, but impossible to keep 2 metres at times. The park was spotless with constant cleaning taking place. All staff had masks and kept their distance. With regards to their Covid-19 measures there were excellent. The life guards were excellent and ensure everyone respected the rules. The park is also very well laid out with lots of space for you to lay out your towels. There is a good variety of water slides for all ages. After that the line for The Wave was a good 30 minutes long. However, we did do The Wave first thing when the park opened at 10.00 am. I think the longest we waited was 10 Minutes. The park did have restricted numbers due to covid-19 so I think this meant the queue times were shorter. However this year it was the only one open so gave it a go. So last year we avoided this water park due to the long wait times. In our experience, a coaxial connection tends to produce better audio quality than optical, allowing for a higher level of detail and greater dynamics.īut, we live in an age where convenience is king. If it’s a straight choice between coaxial and optical, we’d go for the former. The answer to this will depend on the kit you’re using. HDMI ARC and HDMI eARC: everything you need to know. The majority of TV and AV products launched over the last few years support HDMI version 2.0, but HDMI 2.1 (which supports 8K resolution content and features such as ALLM) is becoming more common among modern TVs and AV kit. It also supports new and current video formats - including Ultra HD 4K resolution and the various HDR formats - and additional features such as high frame rate (HFR), and eARC (which can deliver up to 32 channels of audio). HDMI is a constantly evolving standard too, with new and improved versions offering more bandwidth and greater capacity to carry more channels of audio, such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks. An entry-level cable like the AudioQuest Pearl HDMI will suit a wide range of systems. You'll find HDMI inputs and outputs a firm fixture on the best TVs, Blu-ray players, AV receivers and, increasingly, soundbars. Unlike optical and coaxial, there isn’t really a similar rival out there. ![]() It boasts much higher bandwidth than optical, allowing for playback of lossless audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Launched in 2002, the biggest benefit of HDMI is it’s a one-size-fits-all connection for video and audio. Then there's the threat of damage if an optical cable is bent too tightly. An optical connection also can’t support more than two channels of uncompressed PCM audio. Like coaxial, one of the issues with optical is that it doesn’t have enough bandwidth for the lossless audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks found on most Blu-rays and 4K Blu-rays. ![]() Optical inputs are found at the amplification or DAC end, e.g. Something like the QED Performance Graphite Optical is a good entry-level option.Īlthough HDMI has taken over as the main socket of choice for many manufacturers, optical outputs are still common on games consoles, Blu-ray players, set-top boxes and televisions. Optical cables with a Toslink (Toshiba Link) connector slot into a matching socket on both source and receiver. Traditionally, in a home cinema environment, optical connections tend to be used to transmit compressed Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound. An optical cable doesn’t allow noise to pass from source to DAC circuitry like a coaxial can, and so makes sense to use this socket when connecting straight into the DAC of a soundbar or AV receiver.
